In order to access to Eni Portal's Reserved Area you need to enter Your credentials. This way, the system will recognize you as an authorized user.

The forms of authentication available are:

UserID and password

Token SecurID and one-time password + Pin
Certificate X509v3 and control password

Smart card or USB Token + PIN
There are different kind of credentials.

Password

This is the most common form of authentication. The system is configured in order to accept only passwords that fulfill Italian legislation on privacy (D.L. 196/03). Your password is always transmitted over a secure channel, through a SSL connection.

SecurID

The user can use the RSA SecurID token, provided by Eni. Please refer to the documentation provided togheter with the token for further information. One-time password is always transmitted over a secure channel, through a SSL connection.

Certificate

Eni enables some users to install a X.509 certificate on their workstation. This form of authentication is very strong, but the configuration of the workstation's operating system might allow a maliciuos user to extract the private key of the certificate from the workstation. For this reason we require you to enter an additional password. It is the same password of UserID and password authentication.
Depending on the configuration of your browser, you might see the "page not found" message if you try to access this area without a valid certificate.

SmartCard

The user can use a smartcard or an USB token certified by a Certification Authority recognized by Eni. Smartcards and USB tokens requires the user to enter a PIN, in order to activate them.
Depending on the configuration of your browser, you might see the "page not found" message if you try to access this area without a valid certificate.
Security Warnings

Your Internet browser might show you a protection warning related to the "certificate" of the site you are trying to access. This warning means that Your Internet browser do not recognize Eni as a valid Certification Authority for Internet sites.
In order to have Your browser recognizing Eni as a valid Certification Authority You can install Eni CA Certificate. Please click on this link to download the certificate, then click on the .cer file and follow the instructions:

Redirection to a non protected connection

When you try to access to the reserved area of this site, your password is transmitted through a protected connection. During the authentication process your browser might show you a security warning, saying that you are moving from a protected connection to an unprotected connection. This only means that you are moving to the Eni.it homepage. Whenever you would reach sensible information, the connection will be protected again.
